Day Shift 6:30AM-2:30PM
Bachelor’s Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program, required, Master’s preferred. Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND a Nurse Practitioner New York State. National Board Certification in specialty area, required. Certification to be obtained prior to next re-credentialing review. Completion of a pharmacology component of not less than three semester hours or the equivalent AND has been instructed in New York State and federal laws relating to prescription and record keeping (3 hour course). Previous experience relevant to the area of clinical practice, preferred.
Provides admission and annual physicals for patients as well as assess appropriateness for admission. Assesses patient doses for any needed adjustments; assesses patient change in pick-up schedule as well as any release of take home medication. Overseas medical aspects of clinic when the Medical Director is unavailable which includes, but not limited to, evaluate and assess patients for signs and symptoms of intoxication prior to medicating patients when necessary; reviews medical aspects of all documentation.
