Saint Joseph's is home to Westchester County's first Child Advocacy Center to assist in the identification and treatment of child abuse. Children are evaluated for physical or sexual abuse, in cooperation with the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, Child Protective Services and local law enforcement. A two-way mirror facilitates interviews and minimizes trauma for young victims. Physical exams are conducted by a doctor and nurse with special expertise and sensitivity.
