Monitors and maintains inventory level; processes purchasing orders as required; tracks orders and investigates problems and informs supervisor of shortages. Places orders for Nine Departments including reagents and consumables in Lawson System. Contacts vendors directly for needed information related to back orders, damaged items and product ETA. Enters Capital Equipment, Equipment Service PMs, Blanket orders in Lawson System. Records purchases, maintains database, performs physical count of inventory and reconciles actual stock count to computer-generated reports. Receives, unpacks, dates, re-stocks items as necessary, and labels shelves. Inspects shipments for accuracy and completeness, and resolves inconsistencies. Verifies received supplies against packing slips. Processes invoices for payment in Lawson System. Processes and documents returns as required following established procedures. Maintains physical area in a neat and orderly fashion. Discards packing materials and boxes. Reports equipment malfunction and maintenance to supervisor and Biomedical Engineering. Follows up with Biomedical Engineering to ensure timely repairs. Coordinates and controls distribution of supplies to ensure optimum utilization of resources. Conducts audits of supplies to establish operational efficiencies. Handling and storing of Hazardous Materials for Microbiology, Histology and Hematology. Meets with Regulatory Agencies during the NYS DOH, The Joint Commission Surveys. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Utilization of three Inventory Management Systems;Lawson, Ortho Plus, and Cardinal Market.
