Since our founding in 1888, Saint Joseph's has been a vital part of this community. We have remained committed to the people of the City of Yonkers as well as those we care for throughout the region. Our mission is to serve, and as long as you need us, we'll be here for you.
A Message from the President
Saint Joseph’s Medical Center has been an integral part of the healthcare system in this region for over 120 years. With our recent acquisition of St. Vincent’s Hospital in Harrison, our medical center is now one of the largest healthcare institutions in Westchester. Our system includes a 194-bed teaching hospital, a 200-bed nursing home, two affordable senior housing facilities for frail elderly residents, a family medicine residency program, state of the art technology, a 138- bed psychiatric hospital and satellite clinics in Yonkers, White Plains, Port Chester, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
Our service lines are a valuable resource to all those we serve; from children to older adults. We have one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Westchester, one of the highest rated Hospital Based Nursing Homes in the region and one of the most comprehensive Mental Health Programs in New York State. Our commitment to excellence is ingrained in all our services and is backed by our investing in the most current technologies, and recruiting and retaining the most caring, skilled and dedicated staff.
We are most proud of the fact that we have been able to balance our mission of providing first rate, high quality care to everyone who comes through our doors, while being financially responsible in our operations. We have been fortunate to have the support of our sponsors, the Sisters of Charity and a loyal and dedicated staff of employees, board members, volunteers and friends who share our commitment to the highest practice standards of patient care and service.
We have been successful in meeting the many challenges that impact the nation’s healthcare system. As we move forward, I assure you that we will continue to provide those services that are so vital to those we serve and maintain our legacy of excellence.
Michael J. Spicer, F.A.C.H.E.
