Mission
Since its founding by the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul in 1888, Saint Joseph's Medical Center has been meeting the health care needs of Yonkers and surrounding communities.

Our Heritage
The Sisters of Charity, through their sponsorship of health care facilities, participate in the Mission of the Catholic Church in the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, who reached out to all in need, especially those who live in poverty. Following their example, the Sisters of Charity provide leadership in health care services in an atmosphere of Christian concern in an environment that reflects the teaching of Christ.
